There are various areas to provide comments throughout the Ripple application. Comments can be made within Tasks, Recruitment Sources and Strategies, Potential Participants, and Enrolled Participants. Some of the options associated with the comments may vary, but the function of the Comments Log is the same throughout the application.
Users can add comments using the text box located at the top of the log. Comments can be marked in the following ways:
Contact: Checking the "Contact" box will update both the "Study Date of Last Contact" and "Global Date of Last Contact" associated with the participant.
Pin Comment: Checking "Pin Comment" box will "pin" the comment to the top of the comment list. Pinned comments can be recognized by the thumbtack icon located under the commenter's initials. More than one comment can be pinned at a time; pinned comments are listed in chronological order.
Notify: Checking "Notify" will send an email alert to the team about the comment that was just made.
Global: Making a comment "Global" will keep the comment visible in every study the participant is in. A box denoting the global status of the comment, along with the name of the study in which the comment was made will appear next to the comment.
In the example above you can see the comment made by SM on Jan 12, 2017, 12:49 PM was "pinned", as indicated by the thumbtack icon, and will remain at the top of the list. The remaining comments are listed in chronological order from newest to oldest. The comment on Jul 15, 2019, 11:54 AM by AM was marked as "Global", so the global tag appears with the study name in which the comment was made, Global (Demo).
Notes about Comments:
- Users can only edit comments that they have made. Comments made by other users cannot be altered in any way.
- Hovering over the initials of the user who made the comment will display the commenter's first and last name.
