Text Overview
The Text element allows you to add text to your template. This is a great way to give participants information about your study, instructions or reminders for their visit, and more. You can also use the text element to include important links.
How to Add the Text Element to Your Template
To add the text element to your email template, ensure you are in the Content section. Then, click the TEXT icon and drag it onto the email body.
Properties of the Text Element
You can choose to customize the Text element in Desktop or Mobile mode. However, the Mobile mode does not contain all the styling options. Specifically, the Mobile mode does not include the ability to:
- Select the font family
- Set the font weight as regular or bold
Text
The Text section allows you to customize your text. You can customize the following:
- Font Family: The type of font for the text
- Font Weight: Allows text to be regular or bolded
- Font Size: How big or small the text appears
- Color: The color of the text
- Text Align: How text is positioned horizontally in relation to a reference point, like the left, right, center, or justified margins
- Line Height: The vertical space between lines of text, allowing lines to be closer or farther apart
Links
Links allow you to customize any hyperlinks you’re using in the text element. By default, links will inherit the properties you set in the Body section. However, you can toggle this off (red), and customize the color of the hyperlink and whether or not there is an underline.
General
The General section lets you control the padding within a text box. Padding allows you to add spacing between the border of the text box and the content inside of it. Adding padding allows you to have custom spacing to separate items more clearly. In the General section, you can toggle the “More Options” button (red) to customize how much padding is on the top, right, left, and bottom of the content within the text box.
Responsive Design
With responsive design, you can customize your emails to ensure they display properly across different devices. Text can be tailored to display perfectly or be hidden so that they don’t display on a certain device. To customize the email for a specific device, click on the desktop icon or mobile icon, or select the Desktop or Mobile tab at the bottom left of the editor body. You can edit different aspects of the text based on the device the recipient is using to view the email.
Under the responsive design section, you can hide the text on a desktop or mobile device. When either "Hide on Desktop" or "Hide on Mobile" is toggled on, the text will appear faded within the email template, making it invisible to participants depending on whether they are viewing the email on a desktop or a mobile device.
