How to Export and Import Pieces of Your Study Settings

To help with study start-up and provide the ability to share best practices, users can export and import pieces of the Study Settings of one study into another Ripple site. This allows teams the ability to share settings between Ripple sites or send the file to Ripple support staff for troubleshooting.

The settings outlined below are available for export and import:

• Statuses
• Custom Variables
• Contact Relationship Values
• Contact Outcome Values
• Email Templates
• Text Templates
• Surveys

How to Export a Study:

Users need to have Study Admin access to the study they want to export.

1. Use the Studies dropdown to choose the study you want to export (red)
2. Navigate to the “Study Settings” tab (green)
3. Go to the “Details” page (purple)
4. Click the “Export Study” button (red)

How to Import Pieces of the Study:

Users need to have Study Admin access to the study they want to import the study pieces into.

1. Create or Navigate to the Ripple study where you want to import the study into
2. Go to the Study Settings page (red)
3. Go to the Details page (green)
4. Scroll down to the Import Study Component section
5. Click the “Import Study Definition” button (purple)
6. Choose the file of the study you exported
7. Choose the study components you want to import (red)
8. Click the "Import Selected Components" button (green)
9. Click the “Yes, import components” button
